On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the UMass Amherst Department of Music and Dance will present its 43rd Annual Jazz Showcase, featuring performances by ensembles from its award-winning Jazz and African American Music Studies program (JAAMS) led by Jeffrey W. Holmes. The concert will take place at 7:30 PM in Bowker Auditorium.
The program will spotlight music composed by faculty, alumni, and students of the JAAMS program. All of the primary JAAMS ensembles will perform during the show, led by Jazz Ensemble I, along with Vocal Jazz, Chapel Jazz, Jazz Lab, Chamber Jazz, and Graduate Composers’ Ensembles, plus the Graduate Jazz Quartet and appearances by jazz faculty.
Tickets prices are $15 for general admission, $5 for senior citizens and non-UMass students, and free for UMass students. Tickets may be purchased at the Fine Arts Center Box Office, by phone at 413-545- 2511, or online at fineartscenter.com/musicanddance. Bowker Auditorium is located at 80 Campus Center Way; free and secure parking is available in the nearby Campus Center Garage.
