The Zoo in Forest Park, World Turtle Day

Come shellebrate turtles at The Zoo in Forest Park for World Turtle Day on Thursday, May 23!

From 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., meet some of The Zoo’s turtles and tortoises up close, learn about topics including turtle conservation, turtle anatomy, and responsible pet ownership, and make some turtle-themed crafts.

*Pre-registration is not required. World Turtle Day activities are included with the price of admission on May 23.

Fun Fact – Most turtles and tortoises have 13 scutes on their shell. Scutes are large, hard scales and are made of keratin, the same material that makes up

human hair and fingernails

The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center is an independent non-profit located inside of a city park. The City of Springfield charges a daily parking fee of $3 per in-state and $5 per out-of-state passenger car CASH ONLY. All buses and larger vehicles are charged $15 per vehicle. These prices are subject to change and the money is not managed or collected by The Zoo.
