At 10 a.m., Pittsfield will hold its annual Fourth of July parade to celebrate Independence Day. All the marching fun begins at East/West/South Housatonic Streets and continues on North Street ending at Wahconah Park.

Fireworks 9:30 p.m., Pittsfield Cemetery – 203 Wahconah St.

The day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the 13 former British colonies on July 4, 1776.

Massachusetts became the first state to recognize the Fourth of July as a statewide holiday in 1781.
