This talk discusses some of the aspects of the ancient entanglement of Athena and the equally complex narratives and iconographies of Medusa, arguing that Medusa was understood in the ancient mind to be a divinity in her own right but inextricably linked to Athena in several intriguing ways.
About the presenter: Anthony Tuck is a Professor of Mediterranean Archaeology and Associate Dean of the Faculty of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
