Join us for the 68th Annual Fall Foliage Parade in North Adams. This is a free event and is fun for the whole family. Children from throughout the Northern Berkshire’s are encouraged to make costumes and enter the parade.
Since 1955, North Adams has held a special week of events showcasing the beauty of autumn in North Adams. Complete with a children’s fair, road race, craft fair and performances, the Fall Foliage Festival is fun for the whole family.
The highlight of the Fall Foliage Festival is the Fall Foliage Parade that takes place on the first Sunday of October.
2024 Theme:
“Berk du Soleil – The Greatest Show in North Berkshire” will bring a world of wonder, magic and enchantment to the northern Berkshires with bands, floats and entertainers of all kinds marching through North Adams. Parade spectators are invited to dress up in whimsical attire and be a part of the event.
This year’s parade route is 1.2 miles and mostly flat, making the parade more walkable for all ages and abilities. The shorter parade route is also less of a time commitment for participants.
Starting Point: Intersection of State Street and Old State Street
Lineup: Curran Highway between DiSanti Field (north point) to United Cerebral Palsy (south point); roughly 400 Curran Highway to 535 Curran Highway
Ending Point: Intersection of Ashland Street and Washington Ave, same as last year.
NOTE: Due to the new starting location and staging area, through traffic is able to detour on Old State Street to access parts of Curran Highway. The road will be fully shut down along the parade route starting at 12:30 pm.
You won’t want to miss the glorious fall foliage in Massachusetts. From the iconic scenery of the Berkshires to the charming small towns you’ll find across the state, there is plenty to do and see this autumn.
The season starts in mid-to-late September, and peak color often coincides with Columbus Day weekend. Leaves will start to change at the end of September and we’ll see peak foliage in much of Massachusetts during the first week of October – but you should be able to see pretty colors throughout the state until Halloween.
