The Springfield Museums welcomes all things fall with Oktoberfest on Thursday, October 3, from 5-8 pm. This annual beer tasting features local craft breweries and home brewers on the Quadrangle Green (rain location: Wood Museum of Springfield History). Tickets are $15 for Museum Members and $25 for nonmembers, with all tastings included. Designated drivers may enter for $10.
The evening also includes music by DJ TJ and hors d’oeuvres by Log Rolling. A cash bar is available for additional beverage options. Reservations at SpringfieldMuseums.org are recommended, but not required.
Originally launched in 2010, Oktoberfest has become one of the most popular events on the Museums’ calendar with hundreds enjoying a crisp pre-fall evening surrounded by the dramatic architecture of the Museums in the company of old friends and new.
Local breweries scheduled to pour include Amherst Brewing, Boston Beer Company, Broad Brook Brewing Company, Ginger Libation, Greater Good Imperial Brewing, Jack’s Abby, Little Willow Brewing Company, Loophole Brewing, Oakholm Brewing Company, Rustic Brewing Company, Vanished Valley Brewing, and White Lion Brewing Company.
Home brewers competing this year include 4Walls Brewing, Beerfort Brewing, Catseyesoup Brewing, Party of One Brewing, Side-Gig Brewery, Siren Song Brewing, SPARGE Homebrew Club, StrongHaus Brewing, and Tell-Tale Brewing.
“This is a favorite fall tradition at the Museums,” says Larissa Murray, Director of Education. “We’re excited to celebrate local breweries and homebrewers!”
