There are many reasons why the people of Holyoke love their city, but one reason that is prominent for many residents is the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Parade weekend, and the many events preceding it, is a time for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and celebrate the city’s rich history.
The 72nd Annual Parade has tens of thousands of marchers, 25-30 Floats, 35 to 40 marching bands, and also just to mention 400,000 spectators and 1.2 million+ television viewers. Come join us this year to live the experience and feel the excitement that has been around for over six decades in the city of Holyoke.
The parade typically kicks off between 11 AM , so we recommend planning ahead and arriving with enough time to get to your location for viewing. The 2.65-mile parade route is North on Northampton Street to Beech Street; East on Beech Street to Appleton Street; Southeast on Appleton Street to High Street; North on High Street to Hampden Street. The parade can take up to 3 hours to pass by any one spot along the route.
