The Children’s Museum at Holyoke is partnering with the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round for this year’s Fall Fun Fest, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Holyoke Heritage State Park.
One ticket price provides admission to the Children’s Museum, unlimited rides on the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round, face painting by Happy Face Painter, fun with balloons and magic from BTC Family Entertainment, a craft project, plus a chance to meet Curious Friend (from Alice in Wonderland) from Something Royal Party Co.
Tickets cost $35 for a family four-pack or $10 individually. They can be purchased online at www.holyokemerrygoround.org/tickets until Thursday, Sept. 26, after which tickets are available at the door.

Take a spin on the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round, situated in the southwest portion of Holyoke Heritage State Park, also home to the Children’s Museum of Holyoke and Volleyball Hall of Fame.
Mountain Park is where our carousel first lived, and years ago, if the park expressed interest in buying a Philadelphia Toboggan Company coaster, the company would throw in a hand-carved merry-go-round! The merry-go-round that Mountain Park was given was the fifth-to-last one Philadelphia Toboggan Company made. It was assembled in the old modified pavilion and opened for the 1929 season – just before the Great Depression.
Inside the pavilion, the carousel is comprised of 48 magnificent horses hand carved by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company: 16 standers on the outside row that are stationary, 14 jumpers in the middle row, 18 standers and jumpers in the inner row and 2 chariots. The Merry-Go-Round features 56 original scenic panels, 864 brightly colored lights and 98 beveled mirrors.
